BEHIND THE BRAND
– Their ambition is to create timeless and functional designs
that make everyday life a bit more beautiful.
Stelton has been synonymous with exclusive Danish design for over 50 years, and in particular for design made of stainless steel. Stelton’s vision is to enrich people’s everyday lives with qualitative design that is both innovative and surprising.
The name Stelton is a merge of both the two founder’s names, Stellan and Carton, that founded Stelton in the 1960s. Stelton’s early beginnings sold trainers and furniture and then evolved to develop range of stainless kitchenware through collaborations with leading Danish designer, Arne Jacobson.
One of Stelton’s most successful collaborations was with Erik Magnussen – a collaboration that led to the launch of Stelton’s most iconic product; the Stelton vacuum jug. The jug was launched in 1977 and has since then sold over 10 million times. These collaborations still hold to this day with collaborations with Francis Cayouette, Knud Holscher and more.
Even Norman Foster, one of Britain’s most prolific high-tech architects who designed HSBC Building in Hong Kong, “the
Gherkin” in London, The Hurst Tower in New York and plenty more.
